"Because someday, these will be the photos you hold when they’re all grown"

Who am I?

Alexandra (ally) Balut

First off, I'm so glad you're here! Whether you've known me for years or just seeing what I'm all about, thank you for taking the time.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND...

I grew up in Grove City, Ohio, and I’m fortunate to still work with many clients in that area, I know it incredibly well. In 2018, after marrying my husband, we moved to the Ashville area, where we lived until 2024. During that time, we built lifelong friendships and deep roots, and I became very familiar with the Pickaway County region as well.

In 2024, we moved near Kingston, Ohio, with hopes of embracing a simpler country life, and one year later, we truly love it. All of that to say, I proudly serve all three locations.

I’ve been a professional photographer for eight years now (wild!). I began my career photographing a little bit of everything, but over time, I’ve refined my craft and found my true passion in family photography. I also love capturing maternity sessions and lifestyle newborns. On occasion, I accept events and courthouse weddings, though those are considered on a case-by-case basis.

IF YOU’D LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ME ON A PERSONAL LEVEL…

I’m a 32-year-old girl mom of two, and I’ve been married to the love of my life for several years now- something I never take for granted. My kids are deeply into sports and are wild, kind, artistic, imaginative, and everything wonderful in between. They truly are the coolest. We also share our home with two lovable labradors.

At my core, I’m a creative. I see my life as art in some form; whether I’m cooking breakfast, reading at night, or creating behind the camera. Rather than take up too much of your time, here’s a quick rapid-fire list of some of my favorite things:

  • antique & thrift stores
  • rainy days
  • cooking shows
  • podcasts
  • traveling
  • cashmere
  • journaling
  • Substack
  • espresso
  • thunderstorms
  • Labrador Retrievers
  • Early American art
  • an occasional dry wine
  • bookstores
  • gardening (I’m not great, but I try)
  • photography, duh
